About Us
We are passionate about children, educators, learning, technology and digital inclusion. About Us BrochureAn Ed Tech Social Enterprise
Using technology to transfer critical information to marginalised children and their educators at a rate and scale never before possible. Using tech to bridge the learning divide amongst disadvantaged communities.
The missing pieces
Recognizing letters, writing their names or counting, socializing with peers and problem solving – are signs that children have been exposed to quality ECD content. We use tech to bridge that learning divide for learners and educators.
Promoting digital inclusion
One extra year of schooling increases your earnings by up to 10%. Children exposed to quality ECD content on average earn 25% more as adults than those without no access. We work to bridge that gap.
A talent pool
An educated child becomes an empowered adult. Around the world, children in poor communities face enormous struggles that stand between them and education.
Early stimulation
The impact of learning and the environment during the primary phase has a life-long impact on education and health; income earning potential and propensity for violent and risky behaviour. Science tells us that early stimulation’s impact on language and numerical ability is unmatched
Our Team
Carol Dlamini
Founder
Carol is a social activist at heart. She is a firm believer in the role of technology to disrupt inequalities and to bridge gaps in literacy, numeracy and learning. Carol spent 14 years at Investec Bank working within the Recruitment and Employee Relations division engaging with staff and employees on various Human Resources matters. She also spend 7 years as a senior consultant within the Corporate Social Investment Division (CSI) driving high school and tertiary education, bursary flagship program including , mentorship and work readiness projects. Amongst her successes was digitising archaic processes, streamline projects and ensuring that young people were capacitated for a career in education and entrepreneurship equally. Her focus on ECD access for educators and black children from low income households, comes from first hand experience of Investec’s education portfolio. Carol noticed a recurring theme that when ECD exposure was lacking, young people struggled with numeracy and literacy throughout their school and education careers. Carol is trustee of the Theo Jackson Scholarship Fund (that provides bursaries to children from low income households to attend Jeppe High School for Boys).
